A Lenten Retreat: Pressing on in Love

Lent is a most important time in the liturgical year to nurture our inner lives. Life is a continuing process of the dying of what is old and familiar and of being reborn into a new hope, a new trust, and a new love. Lent offers a beautiful opportunity to discover the mystery of Christ within us. It is a gentle yet demanding time. It is a time of solitude but also community, a time of listening to the inner voice; a time of paying attention to the needs of others.

This Lenten morning retreat offers the opportunity to come together in contemplative community to renew and deepen our practice of Centering Prayer. Those new to Centering Prayer will learn its basics. Those experienced practitioners will refresh their understanding. We remember that we are always beginners in our learning and knowing of the contemplative way.

Facilitator: Kathy Reardon, RN, MS is a spiritual director at the Des Moines Pastoral Counseling Center.

Sign in and refreshments begin at 8:30. Program from 9 AM – 12 Noon.

Cost: A $15 donation is suggested.
