Encountering God - Fall Silent Retreat

5:30 pm on Friday, Sep 27 – 12:30 pm on Sunday, Sep 29, 2024

Rock River Retreat Center, 1792 280th Street, Webster City, Iowa 50595

This retreat is designed for those living busy lives yet seeking some time away for contemplation. Centering Prayer facilitates the movement from more active modes of prayer into a receptive prayer of resting in the presence of God. Familiarity with Centering Prayer is helpful, but staff will be on hand to offer support for those who are new to this prayer practice. Lots of time will be available for private reflection.

Cost: $165 for a single room and $125 per person for those who would like to share a room.

Core Values of Saints Francis and Clare:
8-Day Silent Retreat

Friday, October 11, 5:00 pm - Friday, October 18, 1:00 pm

Shalom Retreat Center, Dubuque

Facilitators:Jeannine Kosman, Kathy Reardon, Kathleen Schiltz, & Mary Jo Pfeifer Wulf

This Silent Centering Prayer (Intensive/Post Intensive) Retreat provides an opportunity to deepen your established Centering Prayer practice in an atmosphere of silence and community, away from the busyness of daily life, with a focus on Franciscan values. It will allow your mind, body, and spirit to surrender to God’s presence and action. Before attending the retreat, you should have an established daily practice of Centering Prayer for at least six months. For those new to an 8-day retreat, there will be videos from the Thomas Keating “Spiritual Journey” video series. Except for opening and closing times, silence will be observed throughout the retreat, including at meals. All the readings used during the retreat will be from St. Francis, St. Clare, and other Franciscan sources.
